On Monday night, 7 December 2009, the Australian Law Students' Association (ALSA) Conference 2010 was awarded a grant atthe 2009 Voiceless awards ceremony.

The $5,000 grant will allow ALSA to raise awareness of the animal protection movement amongst law students at its annual national conference through an Australian Legal Education Forum (ALEF). These forums are the educational highlight of the conference with prominent guest speakers and all conference delegates, as well as the general public, being eligible to attend.

The animal rights forum, tentatively named 'Building Better Protections for Animal Rights' will feature prominent speakers in the movement including a presentation from Voiceless and representatives from the academic and practical side of the movement.
